Net security, respect for private data, contribution to development, rights, and obligations of users, were the issues discussed in the first edition of the Tunisian Internet Governance Forum (IGF).

The Tunisian National IGF held its 1st session on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Mechtel Hotel in Tunis.
For this first edition, four Workshops covered topics such as the nature of the Internet as a service, the protection of privacy and personal data in Tunisia, and the role of the Internet as a lever for development. economic, etc.
Other issues were debated, such as the public nature of Internet service, IPV4-IPV6 migration and the need for a national cyber-security plan.
Specialists of various origins (Administration, private sector, civil society, academicians) and various trades (lawyers, engineers, economists, and …) took part in the workshops of this session of the national IGF.

The Tunisian IGF was created on September 4, 2012, and the MAG of the Tunisian national IGF was elected at the elective general assembly held on March 30, 2013.

The Tunisian national IGF for the year 2013 had 98 participants representing all the Tunisian stakeholders ( private sector, associations, government and academic institutions) concerned by the Internet issues.
